She had a Princess and a Pea birthday party -- which happened to be pretty relevant since she just changed from her crib to a toddler bed this week.
This was a party for her and her friend, Lorelei together. All of the girls came dressed up as princesses, and the boys came in various medieval attire.
We set up a Princess and a Pea bed for the kids to sit on and get pictures taken. The kids thought it was so much fun to sit on top of a princess bed. Claire kept asking me to take more pictures of her, so we have some pretty cute ones.
We had a lot of food, including Marzipan Cookie Peas, princess wands (rice crispy stars), wasabi peas, pink popcorn, and chocolate covered vanilla wafers. Claire LOVED the fact that she could eat as many sweets as she could find. She especially loved the birthday cake (which she still calls a "Happy Birthday Rice Cake"). She wanted to try it before the party, and it was a little tricky to keep her fingers out of the cake. (For those of you who are having difficulty figuring out what the cake is -- it is several mattresses with a pea in between. It also has slippers on the bottom, and pillows on top of the bed. My first real try with fondant, and it was a lot easier than I imagined. Claire selected the type of cake she wanted (pink) and then we made it together.)
Claire thought it was great, and absolutely loved everything about it.
Looks like a lot of fun. I bet Claire loved it. Nice work on the cake. It looks fantastic.
